How engine piston works

 
	It withstands the pressure of the combustion gas from the top of the piston and transmits the gas pressure to the connecting rod through the piston pin to promote the rotation of the Crankshaft, causing the crankshaft to rotate and output power. The Engine piston consists of a top, a head and a skirt. When the piston is working, the combustion gas pressure acts on the top of the piston, and the piston pin reaction force acts on the pin seat hole in the head. 
 
	 
 
Working process of piston connecting rod group: 1. Intake stroke The piston moves from top dead center to bottom dead center driven by the crankshaft. At this time, the Exhaust Valve is closed and the Intake Valve is opened. During the movement of the piston, the cylinder volume gradually increases and a certain degree of vacuum is formed in the cylinder. Air is drawn into the cylinder through the intake valve. 2. Compression stroke After the intake stroke ends, the crankshaft continues to drive the piston from bottom dead center to top dead center. At this time, both the intake and exhaust valves are closed. As the piston moves, the cylinder volume continues to decrease, the mixture in the cylinder is compressed, and its pressure and temperature increase at the same time. Work stroke When the compression stroke is close to the end (about 20 degrees before top dead center and the injection advance angle), the fuel injector injects fuel and burns it while injecting (diesel engine diffusion combustion). The volume of the combustion gas expands rapidly, and the pressure and temperature increase rapidly. Under the action of gas pressure, the piston moves from top dead center to bottom dead center, and drives the crankshaft to rotate through the connecting rod to perform work. At this time, the intake and exhaust valves are still closed. 4.Exhaust stroke The exhaust stroke begins, the exhaust valve opens, and the intake valve remains closed. The crankshaft drives the piston from bottom dead center to top dead center through the connecting rod. At this time, the expanded combustion gas (or exhaust gas) expands under its own residual pressure and Driven by the piston, it is discharged out of the cylinder through the exhaust valve.
