Cylinder liner often problems, how to judge and solve?

The cylinder pad is installed between the cylinder head and the cylinder block, and the cylinder head bolts ensure the cylinder seal to prevent the leakage of gas, cooling water and lubricating oil.

 

It must tightly seal the high temperature and high pressure gas produced in the cylinder and the cooling water and oil with a certain pressure flow rate through the cylinder liner, and can withstand the corrosion of water, gas and oil.

●Common cylinder liner ablation is due to high temperature and high pressure gas impact cylinder liner, burn out the mouth, retainer and asbestos board, resulting in cylinder leakage, lubricating oil, cooling water leakage.

●When the washout cylinder pad fault occurs, the engine power performance decreases and the cylinder pressure is insufficient. In case of serious exhaust pipe blasting phenomenon, the cylinder pad should be replaced immediately.


▶Cylinder liner ablation fault phenomenon

1) Burning between the two cylinder edges of the cylinder pad: the engine power is insufficient, the car is weak, the acceleration is poor, the air filter is removed, the engine is idle, the inlet pipe can hear the "snap" sound.


2)The cylinder pad burning part and water jacket hole communication: water tank bubble, boiling, exhaust white smoke phenomenon.

 

3)The burning part of the cylinder pad is communicated with the oil channel: part of the oil will be burned into the cylinder, and the exhaust will emit blue smoke.

 

4)the cylinder pad burning part is communicated with the external atmospheric environment: the engine power performance is poor, the economy deteriorates, and the fierce piping sound is issued from the pad damage.


▶Cause of liner ablation

1)Start the work under heavy load for a long time, often produce knock combustion, resulting in local high temperature and high pressure in the cylinder and ablative cylinder liner.


2)The cylinder head bolts tighten, not according to the requirements of the operation, uneven torque caused by the cylinder mat is not flat on the cylinder body and the cylinder head of the joint surface leading to gas.

 

3)The ignition advance Angle or injection advance Angle is too large, which makes the maximum pressure and temperature of the cycle too high.

 

4)the cylinder liner quality is poor, uneven thickness; There are bubbles in the memory of the bag mouth, uneven asbestos laying or the bag edge is not tight.

 

5)Warping deformation of cylinder head, cylinder body surface roughness out of tolerance, individual cylinder head bolts loose, resulting in poor seal.

 

6)improper driving operation methods, habits of fierce refueling door and rapid acceleration, high-speed operation, excessive pressure aggravated cylinder cushion erosion.


▶Diagnosis of liner ablation

Use the cylinder pressure gauge to detect the compression pressure of two adjacent cylinders of the engine. If both cylinders are low, it is usually a poor seal of the cylinder pad. Then do the following specific tests:

1)Test the sealing of the cylinder pad with a rubber hose

 

2)The cylinder gasket sealing by looking at the radiator splash detection

 

3)the exhaust gas analyzer is used to detect the sealing of the cylinder pad

 

4)Cylinder gasket leakage will cause the engine temperature is too high

 

5)When the engine is working, move around the cylinder pad with your hand, if you feel a gas to burn the hand. When the cylinder pad damage is serious, there can be bubbles in the joint between the cylinder head and the cylinder block for cylinder pad seal failure.

 

6)In the use of water tank when found that the water level drops faster, pull out the oil ruler inspection found that there is water in the oil (oil color yellow or even white), for the cylinder cushion leakage; In addition, the temperature of the cooling water in the water tank rises too fast, often boiling, water inlet splash, and the inlet pipe has no concave phenomenon, cooling water has no obvious consumption, for the cylinder gasket leakage, in case of the above phenomenon should be replaced with a new cylinder gasket.


▶Use and maintenance of cylinder liner

Note the following when installing and maintaining:

1)Remove the cylinder head bolt to replace the cylinder pad, must be carried out after the engine is completely cooled, so as to avoid the deformation of the cylinder head.

 

2)Check whether the cylinder pad surface is depressed, raised, damaged, etc.; Check whether the flatness of the cylinder head and cylinder block meets the requirements, and then clean the cylinder pad, cylinder head and cylinder block, and blow dry with high pressure air to avoid dirt affecting the seal.

 

3)The selected cylinder cushion must be in line with the requirements (specifications and models) of reliable quality of the original accessories, installation attention to its up and down toward the mark, to prevent reverse installation, to avoid human failure.

 

4)According to the technical specifications to tighten the cylinder head bolts, due to the symmetric expansion of the central two ends of the cross, divided into 2~4 times to the specified torque; It is more reliable to tighten again in the hot car state.

 

5)The cylinder head bolts corrosion can not be removed, do not use iron pry, so as not to damage the cylinder head, can be poured into the cylinder head screw hole kerosene soak for a moment, can be removed smoothly.

 

6)The improper storage of the cylinder head, careless disassembly and assembly, cylinder pad damage deformation, improper cleaning during installation will lead to poor work, lax sealing and human failure must be paid attention to.
