Cause of ignition coil burn out
The root cause of ignition coil burn out is thermal expansion.
When the heat is not dissipated in time, the temperature inside the ignition coil will rise sharply, resulting in increasing pressure. Some parts will change due to long-term work, such as aging and falling off, which will affect the normal work of the ignition coil and the whole system, and may swell or even burst, affecting driving safety.
The causes of excessive heating of the ignition coil are:
power system failure, spark plug gap is too large or too small, current is too large, insulation layer aging breakdown, IGBT tube damage, etc. Therefore, when we replace the ignition coil, we also need to check the spark plug, high voltage line, battery output voltage, coil power supply harness, whether there is a short circuit phenomenon, the grounding of all circuits.
Why do ignition coils keep burning out ?
The ignition coil is easy to burn out for the following reasons:
1.The spark plug carbon deposit is contaminated, which leads to the abnormal discharge output of the ignition coil, so that the coil is burned out. In this case, we need to regularly check and clean the spark plug carbon fouling;
2.If the ignition coil is not replaced for a long time, rubber and other materials will gradually age after a certain time of high temperature and vibration, which is more prone to short circuit, so we should regularly check the ignition coil, and replace the whole set when necessary;
3.The ignition module is broken down, causing the ignition coil to burn out. At this time, the engine supply voltage should be checked.
4.The high-voltage wire will be aging for a long time and leakage and fire will occur, which will lead to the ignition coil burning. It is necessary to check the high-voltage wire regularly.
Is it feasible to replace the whole ignition coil?
Many owners have such doubts: the ignition coil is necessary to replace the whole set? In fact, a few models have the feature of two cylinders sharing one ignition coil in the engine system, but most models have one ignition coil responsible for one cylinder. When the ignition coil fails, without a full replacement, the vehicle will barely start and may cause damage to the starting system. From another point of view, the same batch of ignition coil general factory time is the same, and the use of the same environment, then the life is almost the same, so it is necessary to replace the whole set of ignition coil.
When the vehicle travels more than 60,000 kilometers, and the ignition coil of other cylinders has been changed within the recent 5,000 kilometers, and other cylinders have obvious misfire fault records, then it is strongly recommended that you replace the ignition coil in a complete set.
Is ignition coil smoke a quality problem?
Ignition coil smoke is a quality problem? The answer is not necessarily! In fact, ignition coil smoke is usually caused by short circuit, ignition coil generated voltage is too low, resulting in the lack of ignition energy, spark plug electrode will black faster. When the ignition system is not easy to produce high voltage, can not ignite, will cause the engine idle speed instability, intermittent flameout, can not start the phenomenon. Although it is not the problem of product quality itself, please check the ignition coil condition in time when smoke occurs, and go to the repair shop to repair if necessary.
How long is the 1D ignition coil warranty?
The warranty period of general ignition coil is 24 months, but does not include man-made damage, wrong installation, damage during transportation, etc. The specific warranty period shall be determined according to the actual use situation.
When the ignition coil fails, in addition to the replacement of the whole set, it is also necessary to choose high-quality products to avoid possible safety hazards in driving.
1D ignition coil, to create an efficient energy transfer, quality and reliable ignition coil products, strong applicability, easy installation, faster vehicle power feedback.
